Payoneer fees in 2026: the withdrawal, the spread, the real cost.

Payoneer's published pricing charges 1.2–4% to withdraw to a bank account in local currency. Layer on receiving and FX and a full Ghana route models out near 3.15% effective — about $378 a year on $12,000 of billing. Every number here comes from published fee schedules and the kit's rails matrix, verified October 2026 — not a quote.

Where the money actually goes: on a direct route, the FX spread (modelled at about 2%) is larger than the withdrawal fee. Payoneer itself flags this — the spread is the real cost, not the line-item withdrawal charge. Separately, Payoneer needs ID verification before limits open, and when it is the payout rail behind a marketplace like Fiverr, the platform's commission comes off before Payoneer ever sees the money.

What you can control.

Three levers move your Payoneer cost: withdrawal frequency (flat fees multiply on small, frequent cash-outs — batch them), route (a direct client invoice avoids the platform's cut entirely), and invoice size (percentage costs shrink in importance as flat fees stay flat).

The route lever is the big one. The difference between a Fiverr-to-Payoneer route (~23.45%) and a direct Payoneer invoice route (~3.15%) is the platform's commission, not Payoneer's. That is the entire thesis behind the fee leakage calculator: stage one recovers the payout leg, stage two removes the platform cut.

If you are comparing rails on a direct invoice, the kit's matrix puts Payoneer against Wise on the same $1,000-a-month scenario — and prices the newer African rails (Grey, Raenest, Cleva) in the same frame. The cheapest-rails guide covers the full corridor.

Questions.

How much does Payoneer charge to withdraw to a bank?

Payoneer's published pricing shows 1.2–4% for a withdrawal to a bank account in the recipient's local currency. In the full Ghana receive route modelled on this site (1% receiving + 2% FX spread + about $1.50 per cash-out), the all-in effective cost is about 3.15%. Verified October 2026.

Is Payoneer free to use?

No. Withdrawals cost 1.2–4% on published pricing, and on the modelled Ghana route the biggest single cost is the FX spread (about 2%), not the withdrawal fee. When Payoneer is the payout rail behind a marketplace, that platform's commission comes off first — a Fiverr-to-Payoneer route costs about 23.45% all-in.

Why did I receive less than my client paid?

Three cuts: the platform's commission (if any), the withdrawal fee, and the FX spread. On a Fiverr-to-Payoneer route the platform's 20% dominates everything. On direct routes the FX spread usually dominates. The free calculator splits all three stages so you can see which one is bleeding you.

Is Payoneer or Wise cheaper?

On the same modelled $1,000/month Ghana route: Wise lands near 0.90% effective ($108 a year) and Payoneer near 3.15% ($378 a year) — the gap is mostly FX spread. But many platforms route payouts through Payoneer by default, so the real question is which legs of your income you can move. Full comparison here.

Does Payoneer work in Ghana?

Yes — Payoneer is listed among the direct USD rails for Ghana, inside the 1.5–6% all-in corridor band that covers Wise, Grey, Payoneer and similar. Which rail wins depends on your invoice size and cash-out habit; the free calculator prices them side by side as ranges.

What is the $29.95 Payoneer annual account fee?

Payoneer charges a $29.95 annual account fee after 12 months of registration if the account received less than $6,000 (or equivalent) in any 12 consecutive months — per Payoneer's official pricing page. Receive more than that and the fee is waived. Worth knowing before you open an account with small billings; the free calculator shows whether your route pays for itself either way.
